From Mozart to “Thriller”, Experience UNT’s Halloween Spooktacular!

The University of North Texas Concert Orchestra, viagra 60mg dressed in costumes and joined by dancers from Tuzer Ballet, viagra 40mg will celebrate Halloween with a concert featuring dark and dramatic classical music as well as seasonal pop favorites, order including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Attendees are invited to wear costumes to the performance, which will feature fog and lighting effects, a special appearance by Darth Vader, and a number of other Halloween surprises throughout the concert in Winspear Hall.

“This program has two halves, the first being more classical music oriented and the second featuring pop and movie music,” said Conductor Clay Couturiaux. “So you get both the symphonic experience along with the Halloween Spooktacular experience, combined with wonderful choreography and dancing from Tuzer Ballet. We’ll have lots of surprises for the audience throughout the evening.”

The first half of the program includes Paul Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” made famous in Disney’s “Fantasia,” and “Don Giovanni, a cenar teco m’invitasti,” from the chilling end of Mozart’s opera “Don Giovanni.” The second half includes “The Imperial March” from “Star Wars;” theme music from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Young Frankenstein” and “Jaws;” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller;” with dancers from Tuzer Ballet performing the iconic choreography; and more.

“I’m really excited about this lineup; I’ve never performed in an event that is as eclectic as this one,” said Allison Wellons, a College of Music master’s student majoring in performance. “We’re doing everything from very serious but popular literature to lighthearted, fun pieces. It’s going to be a wonderful experience, especially with Tuzer Ballet involved.” Wellons, who plays flute, plans to dress up as a witch for the evening.

Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens, non-UNT students, children, UNT faculty/staff/retirees and groups of 10 or more; and free for UNT students (UNT student ID required).
