ROCO principal String Bass, Sandor Ostlund, will present a chamber concert on Sunday afternoon, January 6, 4:00pm, at Gremillion & Co. Fine Art Annex, 2504 Nottingham.
Sandor Ostlund is Associate Professor of Double Bass at Baylor University. He is an active and versatile performer as a soloist and as a chamber, early music and orchestral musician. As a soloist, Dr. Ostlund has performed in recitals throughout the United States. He has appeared in featured performances at International Society of Bassists Conventions, as concert soloist with orchestras, in live radio broadcasts, and has premiered several works for solo double bass. Dr. Ostlund was featured soloist in ROCO’s October 2010 concert in which he performed the world premiere of Scott McAllister’s vigorous Concerto for Double Bass and String Orchestra. The piece was commissioned by ROCO especially to showcase Dr. Sandor’s virtuosity and versatility.
His January 6, 2013 program is an eclectic mix of classical and popular favorites.

Gremillion & Co. Fine Art and River Oaks Chamber Orchestra have teamed up to feature individual ROCO musicians in intimate chamber concerts at Gremillion & Co. Fine Art Annex. All performances are casual, interactive events on Sunday afternoons, at 4:00, with a wine reception before and during the concert. Admission is $20 and valet parking will be available.
