2) Group Acorde at MATCHHOUSTON—Group Acorde, the interdisciplinary, Houston-based quartet—dancers Lindsey McGill and Roberta Paixão Cortes, bassist Thomas Helton and saxophonist Seth Paynter—are in the middle of their fourth season. Their upcoming January show will premiere a new collaboration with New York-based dancer/photographer Christopher Peddecord, Jan. 9-11 at MATCH Gallery. |

3) Martine Gutierrez at The ModernFORT WORTH—Martine Gutierrez ’s work is featured in The Modern’s current FOCUS exhibition through Jan. 12. On view are photographs from Indigenous Woman, a 146-page magazine that “closely mirrors” Andy Warhol’s infamous Interview and recognized as Gutierrez’s most ambitious project to date. |

4) The Band’s Visit Tours TexasHOUSTON/DALLAS—The Band’s Visit, the musical inspired by the Israeli film, makes two stops in Texas this winter, in Houston, presented by Broadway at the Hobby (Jan. 28-Feb. 2), and in Dallas, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals and AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Broadway Series (Feb. 4-23). The production stars international film, television and stage actor Sasson Gabay, who played the part of Tewfiq in the Israeli film. |

5) Arte Sin Fronteras at the BlantonAUSTIN—Arte Sin Fronteras: Prints from the Self Help Graphics Studio at the Blanton Museum is an exhibition based on a gift of more than 350 prints from the recently retired University of Texas professor Dr. Gilberto Cárdenas. Self Helps Graphics Studio is a mainstay of Latinx and Chicanx printmaking practice in East Los Angeles since the early 1970s. On view through Jan. 12. |

7) Minimalism at McNay Art MuseumSAN ANTONIO—Austin collector John M. Parker, Jr., a San Antonio native, donated more than 100 Minimalist works to the McNay Art Museum in 2017. Many of them are on public display for their first time in What You See is What You See, through May 17. |
